On August 30, residents reported that thousands of car and motorcycle driving test candidates in Binh Duong had not received their driver’s licenses despite having completed their tests as early as late July. According to regulations, candidates should receive their licenses within 10 working days, but some have been waiting for almost a month.
The Binh Duong Province Department of Transportation and Communications has confirmed that many candidates who took their driving tests in July have not received their licenses as per the stipulated timeframe.
They attributed the delay to a lack of success in their bidding process for ink and printing supplies, which are necessary for producing the licenses. Despite three attempts, no qualified bidders have come forward, resulting in a shortage of materials and subsequent delays in issuing licenses to successful candidates.
The department is now expediting the bidding process to secure a supplier for the required ink and materials, as per regulations.
It is anticipated that the authorities in Binh Duong will resolve the issue by September 9, ensuring that all successful candidates receive their much-awaited driver’s licenses.
