The consortium comprises two members, led by South Korea’s Incheon International Airport Corporation, and the second member is Project Management International JSC (PMI) from Vietnam. Both members possess strong capabilities and extensive experience in airport projects.

According to ACV, the global civil aviation industry is undergoing significant changes, with notable trends such as smart airports integrating biometrics and artificial intelligence, green airports focusing on reducing CO2 emissions, and increasing competition among international airports.

With its large scale and adoption of modern technology systems, the management and operation of Long Thanh Airport play a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s efficiency and achieving its investment goals.

Spanning an area of 5,000 hectares in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, Long Thanh Airport is designed to be a 4F-grade airport according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. It aims to become one of the region’s leading aviation hubs.

The Long Thanh Airport project is divided into three phases, with a total capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo annually. The first phase targets a capacity of 25 million passengers and over 1 million tons of cargo per year.

Currently, four major packages of the project are under construction simultaneously: the passenger terminal, runway, two connecting transport routes, and the air traffic control tower. Over 8,000 workers and construction equipment are on-site day and night to ensure the timely completion of these packages.

As per the plan, Long Thanh Airport will welcome its first commercial flight on September 2, 2026.
