In the afternoon of March 6, 2024, at the headquarters of Nutifood Corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, the signing ceremony of the contract “Proposal for the project and feasibility study report of the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River” took place between Nutifood (investor) and the consortium of Chodai & Kiso – Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chodai Co., Ltd., and Niwa Architecture Co., Ltd. (consulting and design units).

The consortium will collaborate with Nutifood to carry out the following tasks: project proposal, survey and feasibility study report, design and construction assignment, and feasibility study report (including structural design).

The pedestrian bridge project that Nutifood has committed to sponsor in Ho Chi Minh City has a total investment of over 1,000 billion VND (approximately 43 million USD). The bridge is expected to start construction on April 30, 2025, and be completed on April 30, 2027.

The design of the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River is inspired by the image of a water coconut leaf. The bridge is planned to be located between Ba Son Bridge and the Saigon River Tunnel. The section in District 1 is situated in the vicinity of Bach Dang Park and closest to Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street. The section on the Thu Duc side is located in the riverside park and outside the A Zone boundary, near the central square in the new Thu Thiem urban area.
