Phuoc An Bridge has a total length of over 4.3 km, with the main bridge spanning approximately 3.5 km. The remaining length consists of approach roads and an interchange connecting to Phuoc An Port. The main span of the bridge boasts a distance of 250 m between the two main pillars, the largest in Southeast Asia to date.

The project commenced in June 2023 and is expected to be completed by 2027, with a total investment of approximately VND 4,877 billion, including a construction value of VND 3,843 billion funded by the central and provincial budgets.

The project is divided into five main construction packages. Notably, Packages 38 and 39 have achieved remarkable results.

Package 38 (construction of the approach bridge from the starting point to pillars T36-T37 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province): Since its commencement in December 2022, the package has completed all bored piles, installed 155 out of 370 SuperT girders, and launched 11 out of 37 girder spans. The output value has reached over VND 574 billion, equivalent to 59% of the contract value.

Package 39 (main bridge from pillar T37 to T40, including the Extradosed pillars crossing the river): Started in June 2023, the package has completed all bored piles (88/88 D2000 piles), constructed 26 out of 26 lower tower segments and 10 out of 15 upper tower segments of pillar T38. The output value has reached over VND 736 billion, equivalent to 46.6%.

In contrast to the progress in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Packages 40 and 41 in Dong Nai province are facing challenges due to obstacles in land clearance and a shortage of filling materials.

Land clearance issues in Dong Nai are gradually being resolved. As of May 2025, various procedures related to land retrieval and change of forest use purpose have been approved by the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province and relevant authorities.

According to the Provincial Project Management Board for Transportation and Agricultural Specialties, the Board will continue to implement various tasks in the next phase, including focusing on the construction of bases, pillars, and main spans for Packages 38 and 39; expediting land clearance and filling works for Packages 40 and 41; and finalizing legal procedures to obtain permission for construction on the Thi Vai river waterway.
