Arthur Hayes, the founder of BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange, has purchased altcoins from Binance, according to onchain data.
Arthur Hayes, the founder of BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange, is said to have withdrawn 100,000 PENDLE from Binance, equivalent to $314,000, at a rate of $3.14 per token.
This move is part of a larger action by Hayes, who has been consistently accumulating PENDLE since April 29, 2021.
Hayes has collected a total of 1.44 million PENDLE at an average price of $1.67, with an estimated cost of $2.41 million.
Despite his significant investment gains, Hayes continues to hold all of the 1.44 million PENDLE, currently valued at $4.55 million. This represents an unrealized profit of $2.14 million, an increase of 88.4%.
In addition to his holdings of PENDLE, Hayes’ known cryptocurrency holdings include 135.75 ETH valued at $463,590, 39,946 PENDLE valued at $144,210, and 10,000 BONDS valued at $40,000.
The total value of his known cryptocurrency assets is $675,223.23.
However, Hayes’ estimated assets are likely higher. On February 24, 2022, Hayes, along with co-founders Benjamin Delo, Samuel Reed, and Gregory Dwyer, pleaded guilty to “willfully failing to establish, implement and maintain an Anti-Money Laundering program at BitMEX.”
As Hayes is a first-time offender and has a philanthropic track record, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission proposed a two-year non-custodial probation sentence.
