Affordable rival of Mazda CX-5 revealed: Porsche-like design, technology-packed, priced under 500 million VND

A 5-seater SUV model with a range of over 1,000 km, challenging the likes of Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V.

On March 2nd, the Leapmotor brand officially launched the midsize 5-seat SUV C10 in the Chinese market, available in EREV (extended range electric vehicle) and BEV (battery electric vehicle) versions, with a starting price of 128,800 CNY (equivalent to 442 million VND). The car is expected to launch in foreign markets in the third quarter.

The EREV versions include Comfort Edition 210, Smart Edition 210, Smart Driving Edition, with prices ranging from 135,800 to 165,800 CNY (466-569 million VND). The BEV versions include Comfort Edition 410, Comfort Edition 530, Smart Edition 530, Smart Driving Edition 530, with prices ranging from 128,800 to 168,800 CNY (442-580 million VND).

The Leapmotor C10 uses Leap 3.0 architecture, with dimensions of 4739 x 1900 x 1680 mm and a wheelbase of 2825 mm. Notable design elements include a square front, panoramic sunroof, 20-inch multi-spoke wheels, hidden door handles, translucent LED headlights, and a rear spoiler. The car comes in 6 exterior colors for consumers to choose from: gray, black, dark gray, light blue, white, and emerald green.

The Leapmotor C10 also comes with Leapmotor Pilot advanced level 3 driving assistance system with 25 functions, implemented through 30 sensors including 5 millimeter wave radars, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, a 128-line lidar, and NVIDIA Orin-X Chip.

In terms of interior, the cockpit features a T-shaped layout, with a combination of orange and purple colors, highlighted by a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch center touchscreen. The operating system, developed by Leapmotor, is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip for cars.

Furthermore, the front seats of the C10 can fold flat up to 180°, transforming into a large-size sofa with a length of nearly 1.8 meters. When both the front and rear seats are folded down, it can create a space longer than 2.7 meters.

The trunk can accommodate seven 20-inch suitcases at the same time and can expand to 835 liters after folding the rear seats down to hold a maximum of fifteen 20-inch suitcases.


The standard EREV powertrain on the C10 includes a rear-mounted 170 kW/320 Nm motor, an H15R 1.5L 70 kW engine, and a 28.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a pure electric range of up to 210 km, a combined travel range of 1,190 km, a top speed of 170 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.68 seconds.

Meanwhile, the BEV version is equipped with two 170 kW/320 Nm electric motors, providing a top speed of 170 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.29 seconds. With fast charging, the car takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The variants have a range of 410-530 km.

Leapmotor is an automobile brand headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, established in December 2015. They currently have 3 commercially available models: C11, C01, and T03. The C10 is their 4th electric vehicle model.

Within the next two years, Leapmotor plans to launch 5 new models to the market. The new cars will be sold in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas.
