In a recent personal post, FPT Corporation’s Board member, Mr. Do Cao Bao, shared the company’s focus on artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and autonomous vehicles.Â
According to Mr. Bao, FPT’s Chairman, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, stated that this was a grand ambition that the company must pursue. With the rapid development of AI, it permeates all aspects of life, and if we don’t embrace it, we will not survive, or rather, we will perish.
“Mr. Binh also said: In the past, when we first started exporting software, we said, ‘export or die,’ which was a bit of an exaggeration. But today, when we say, ‘AI or die,’ we mean it, and we mean it very seriously”, shared Mr. Bao.
Mr. Bao further added that many experts believe FPT and Vietnam have a significant opportunity in AI. Historically, Vietnam has never had the same starting point as other countries until now. With AI, Vietnam is on par with advanced countries, only a few years behind.
“I know many of you lack faith, and there are those who say we’re ‘boasting,’ but in reality, FPT isn’t boasting. FPT has been and is taking action and will continue to do so even more decisively. FPT isn’t just talking; we’ve heavily invested in AI, both financially and in terms of human resources.”, Mr. Bao shared.
In terms of human resources, FPT has already assembled 50 AI PhDs. Mr. Bao stated that among the 50 AI doctors, there are two associate professors. They have worked at leading AI research institutes worldwide, including Mila in Quebec, Canada. They have taught AI at renowned universities, and they have worked for the biggest technology companies in the world.
“50 AI doctors from all over the world, from the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, have come together under the FPT flag, believing that “we’re going to work on AI anyway, so it’s better if Vietnamese people work together,” and that “we’ve never been so close to world-class standards, so we must not miss this opportunity, and we must succeed.”, added Mr. Bao.
In terms of international cooperation, FPT has partnerships with three out of the five AI legends globally, including Landing AI and several other AI-leading companies. Regarding financial investment, FPT has spent a substantial amount on AI, and the specific figure remains a well-guarded business secret.

The FPT Board member also added that the company is not only betting on AI but also on semiconductors and autonomous vehicles.
Regarding semiconductors, FPT is still vigorously promoting them. However, as it is a business secret, more detailed information cannot be disclosed at this time. Occasionally, when asked privately, Mr. Bao would reply that he would announce it when the time is right, and FPT is still working on it.
On autonomous vehicles, Mr. Do Cao Bao shared that many people might not believe FPT could venture into this field. He assured that FPT’s perception of the value of autonomous vehicle components differs from traditional cars and others, hence their belief in their significant contribution to this industry, which their partners also agree with. The autonomous vehicle project is even more confidential than semiconductors, so details cannot be shared yet.
