According to the report by the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the opinions at the working session, up to now, the tasks have been relatively well implemented, with a large volume of work completed. Only a few tasks remain to be carried out in the two most challenging provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this project is of particular importance in enhancing the transmission capacity of the national power system, ensuring proactive and flexible direction and administration, and balancing electricity supply between regions. It also guarantees national energy security and ensures sufficient electricity for production, business, and consumption.
The project has a total length of approximately 519 kilometers, passing through 9 provinces, with a large scale. The tallest tower reaches 145 meters, and the heaviest tower weighs up to 415 tons. Construction has faced various weather conditions, including cold and rainy winters, hot summers, storms, and floods, especially in the central region, known for its extreme weather. Despite the challenging terrain, the project has made significant progress.
Although the remaining work is not extensive, it is the most challenging part. The Prime Minister instructed the agencies, units, localities, and concerned forces to demonstrate even greater determination, effort, and focus in this final sprint. The goal is to complete the project before September 2nd and hold the inauguration on National Day this year.
Assigning specific tasks, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue coordinating with relevant agencies to regularly inspect and supervise the project. They should also promptly address any difficulties and obstacles and conduct acceptance procedures in accordance with legal regulations.
The Ministry of National Defense was instructed to direct the 3rd and 4th Military Regions to coordinate with EVN in reviewing and mobilizing technical forces, machinery, equipment, and human resources to support the construction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to provide guidance on adjusting the forest use purpose in accordance with regulations.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will provide guidance on environmental protection and ensure restoration upon project completion. The Ministry of Home Affairs will coordinate with ministries, sectors, and localities to propose appropriate and deserving awards for all levels that have actively participated in implementing the project.
Localities are requested to continue providing human resources support, with the People’s Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces closely coordinating with EVN and relevant agencies to complete the remaining tasks. Local police forces are also instructed to ensure security and order at the construction sites.
