On August 15, 2024, as part of a study and field survey in Nghe An province, the members of the Training and Updating Knowledge and Skills Program for the Cadre Planning Committee for the 14th Central Committee of the Party visited TH Group’s high-tech dairy farming and processing project in Nghia Dan, a western district of Nghe An.
The delegation visited prominent sites in TH true MILK’s green, closed-loop, and circular production chain, including: high-tech application fields in Dong Hieu, Dairy Farm No. 3 and its automatic milking system, Fresh Milk Factory, Pure Water, Herbal and Fruit Factory, and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
One of the impressive stops for many delegation members was TH’s dairy farm wastewater treatment plant.
Mr. Pham Vinh Son, Director of the Maintenance Department of TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, introduced the system as one of the facilities serving approximately 22,000 dairy cows in Cluster 1, with a capacity of 2,500 cubic meters per day, applying Dutch technology, and constructed by reputable contractor Koastal-Singapore.
In addition to the circular and net-zero emission models, the world-leading technologies applied at TH’s farms and factories also made a strong impression on the delegates.
At the farm, notable technologies include the most advanced herd management process from Afifarm-Israel; New Zealand’s disease and veterinary management process; water treatment processes and equipment from the Netherlands; wastewater and waste treatment processes and equipment from Japan, Israel, and the Netherlands; and a closed-loop automatic milking system.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu remarked that in the last five years, Nghe An’s agricultural growth has been 1.5 times higher than the national average, with high-tech production accounting for nearly 10%. Among the high-tech enterprises contributing to Nghe An’s growth, he emphasized the role of TH Group “as a leading enterprise not only in the province but also in the country.”
As a witness to TH Group’s development, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu recalled the challenges TH faced in the early stages, especially in land accumulation for the project. “With the strong support of the local government, about 3,200 hectares of land have been handed over to TH Group, but it is still not enough compared to the initial plan. However, we have changed our approach: in addition to the land used directly for the project, TH will partner with local farmers to cultivate raw materials on an additional 5,000 hectares.”
Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu also assessed that Nghe An’s agricultural growth has consistently reached 4.7% in recent years, 1.5 times higher than the national average. He attributed this achievement to the efforts of TH and the local farmers in Nghia Dan.
In fact, with many expansion projects in various fields, from dairy farming and processing to wood and sugar production, TH Group has engaged local farmers in its supply chain, starting with providing raw materials.
More than 20,000 farmers supply straw, corn, and sawdust to TH’s dairy farms in Nghe An. Nearly 19,000 farmers provide sugarcane to the Nghe An Sugarcane Factory – NASU. Over 15,000 farmers supply wood to TH’s wood processing factory. About 1,000 households are linked to supply fresh milk and other raw materials to TH in Da Lat, Lam Dong. Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu shared that Nghe An province is proposing TH to partner with local farmers to expand the supply of fresh fruits for the Nui Tien factory.
The founder of TH Group, Labor Hero Thai Huong, has always been concerned with establishing cooperative production and farming in Nghe An and other regions where TH has projects, often located in remote areas where people’s lives remain challenging.
Representing the 50 cadre planning committee members, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac shared that he had known TH Group as a leading private economic group in agriculture for more than ten years. The recent visit and study tour deepened their understanding and admiration for the group’s formation, development, vision, and future prospects.
