On February 27, the People’s Committee of Nghe An province held its regular meeting for February 2024. According to the information at this meeting, the economic and social situation in February achieved many positive results. The province’s export turnover in February is estimated at 190 million USD, accumulated for the first two months of the year is estimated at 370 million USD, an increase of 8.32%. In February, it is estimated that there were 750,000 tourist arrivals.
The state budget revenue in Nghe An province in the first two months of the year reached nearly 4,225 billion VND, equivalent to 26.6% of the estimate and 144.8% of the same period in 2023. The industrial production index in February is estimated to increase by 5.96%, with most of the main industrial products increasing compared to the same period.
Regarding the disbursement of the 2023 public investment plan, as of January 31, 2024, the total public investment plan for 2023, the province has disbursed over 8,585 billion VND, reaching 95.04% of the year’s initial allocated plan; of which, concentrated public investment has disbursed nearly 5,218 billion VND, reaching 93.44%.
Regarding the implementation of the 2024 public investment plan, as of February 20, 2024, the province has disbursed over 1,045 billion VND out of the plan of 9,076.67 billion VND, reaching 11.52%; of which, concentrated public investment has disbursed 460.771 billion VND out of the plan of 4,628.57 billion VND, reaching 9.95%.
In this month, as of February 22, Nghe An province has newly issued certificates for 6 projects with a total investment capital of nearly 7,635 billion VND. Up to nearly the first two months of 2024, there have been 14 newly issued certificates for projects and 25 projects adjusted, with a total capital of over 10,908 billion VND.
In his speech at the meeting, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung requested departments and localities to focus on effectively implementing the economic and social development plan and the state budget estimate for 2024 according to the set objectives. In which, the province aims to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 8.4-9.4% for the first quarter.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board to urgently implement the task of site clearance for Hoang Mai 2 and Tho Loc Industrial Parks. At the same time, continue to carry out procedures related to the investment proposal of the WHA Industrial Park; coordinate with units and Nghi Loc district to complete the documentation of the Cua Lo Deep Water Port project…
Mr. Trung requested the Department of Transport to continue to focus on directing key projects of the central government through the province and local projects; continue to upgrade and expand Vinh International Airport; advise on completing the compensation payment plan for site clearance of National Highway 1A.
In addition, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, departments and agencies to complete the proposal for the construction of resolutions on special policies for the development of Nghe An province according to the set schedule, strive to complete before March 10; at the same time, complete the draft resolution dossier. For the 12 departments and agencies that have no opinions, they need to work to complete it this week, complete the feedback document to ensure the procedure sequence to submit the resolution. At the same time, coordinate with departments and agencies to complete the implementation plan of the Nghe An provincial plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Coordinate with 3 departments to implement the National Target Program to prepare content to serve the meeting of the Steering Committee of the National Target Programs, which will be held in early March.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment supports localities in vigorously implementing site clearance work, first of all, in the localities within the 500kV North-South Line 3 project, committing to hand over foundations and columns by February 29 and the corridor section in March, at the latest by March 30. At the same time, coordinate with localities in accelerating the progress of site clearance for industrial parks, especially Dien Chau district and Hoang Mai town.
