On August 28th, leaders of the People’s Committee of Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province, informed that after the article “Vice-Chairman’s Wife in Binh Phuoc Illegally Builds a Mansion” was published, the People’s Committee of Dong Xoai had directed relevant departments and Tien Thanh ward to promptly handle and dismantle the violating construction in Suoi Cam neighborhood (Tien Thanh ward, Dong Xoai city).
“The People’s Committee of Dong Xoai city will take a stern stance and require the investor to rectify the consequences in accordance with regulations,” said the leader of the People’s Committee.
The three decisions, dated October 20th, 2023, fined Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh for the following offenses: constructing a 384m2 building on land designated for long-term tree planting; exceeding the permitted construction area by 223m2; constructing a private residence of 259.6m2, exceeding the permitted area by 33.6m2, and building it on land designated for long-term tree planting.
The People’s Committee of Dong Xoai assigned the People’s Committee of Tien Thanh ward to monitor and urge the investor to implement remedial measures. However, by November 20th, 2023, the deadline for rectification, Ms. Binh had only filled in the pond and dismantled the tile roof of one of the violating constructions.
“The People’s Committee of Dong Xoai has instructed the People’s Committee of Tien Thanh ward to supervise the process. If the investor does not dismantle the violating constructions, coercive measures will be applied. We have also urged the ward to promptly enforce the administrative penalties and ensure the rectification of consequences,” affirmed the leader of the People’s Committee of Dong Xoai.
According to the People’s Committee of Dong Xoai, inspecting the violating constructions has been challenging due to the investor’s absence and the premises being usually locked.
“After the news article was published, the investor took action to rectify the consequences. So far, the tile roof of one residential building has been completely dismantled, and the investor is continuing to dismantle other violating constructions as committed,” shared the leader of the People’s Committee.
Additionally, the investor of the violating constructions, Mr. Do Ngoc Tam (residing in Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province), committed to dismantling the constructions within 30 days from August 26th, 2024, during a working session with the People’s Committee.
