As observed by VTC News reporters, a massive construction site with hundreds of work fronts, over 6,000 engineers and workers, and 2,200 pieces of equipment operating at full capacity has taken shape on the project site, aiming to bring the project to fruition soon.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV, the investor of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 Component Project 3), all the packages being implemented on the site are strictly inspected, controlled, and supervised to meet the project’s technical standards, ensuring quality and progress as required.

At Package 5.10 (construction and equipment installation package for the Passenger Terminal Building), this section has completed all concrete and rebar work for columns and beams on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors and is currently working on the 4th floor.

The contractor and construction unit have proceeded with the installation of steel structures for Wings 2 and 3 as planned and according to the contract schedule.

Package 5.10 commenced on August 31, 2023, encompassing the construction of the Passenger Terminal (including the central building and three wings), with a structure of one basement and three floors, spanning a total floor area of approximately 376,451 square meters, and a contract value of over VND 36 trillion.

According to the planned schedule, all construction is expected to be completed by December 2025, with the installation of the facade finished by March 2026. In parallel with the completion work, equipment installation and trial operations will commence from early 2026, striving to finalize all items before August 31, 2026.

Regarding Package 4.6 (construction, equipment installation, and detailed design drawing for the construction of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking aprons), the progress has met the set schedule. Specifically, for the runway section, the foundation layers and M150/15 cement concrete layer have been completed over 90%, and the mass construction of the M350/45 cement concrete surface layer is currently underway (reaching 17.18%).

Contractors are focusing their resources, equipment, and materials to strive for the technical exploitation of the runway before April 30, 2025, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Construction Corporation (Hancorp) Management Board, shared that the most critical package, the construction and equipment installation of the Passenger Terminal Building, has completed the rough construction 20 days ahead of schedule. Regarding the construction plan for the upcoming September 2nd holiday, Mr. Thuan affirmed that workers and contractors would work through the holiday to ensure progress.

“Currently, on the construction site, the joint venture contractor, investor, and supervision consultant are preparing for the completion work, installation of steel structures, and imported materials to proceed with the next phase. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Notably, in September 2024, several critical packages will be commenced. The packages are anticipated to be finished before August 31, 2026,” said Mr. Thuan.
