In early 2023, construction began on two central hospitals in Ngoc My, Quoc Oai, Hanoi. The total investment for the Central Obstetrics Hospital Base 2 was over VND 600 billion, and over VND 880 billion for the Central Pediatric Hospital Base 2.

The two hospitals are located on a 12-hectare site with convenient transportation connections, adjacent to the Thang Long Boulevard and provincial roads, about 20 km from the city center of Hanoi.

After nearly two years of construction, the two hospitals are nearing completion. Once operational, they will better meet the growing healthcare needs of the people.

Specifically, the Central Obstetrics Hospital Base 2 is designed to include: a 3-story administrative block, an 8-story technical services block, two 6-story inpatient treatment blocks, and several auxiliary projects.

The Central Obstetrics Hospital Base 2 has a capacity of 300 inpatient beds and can accommodate around 1,000 outpatient visits per day.

The Central Obstetrics Hospital Base 2 will provide medical examination and treatment, improving reproductive healthcare for mothers and newborns in Hanoi and surrounding areas.

Upon completion, the Central Obstetrics Hospital Base 2 will not only reduce the workload of Base 1 in the city center but also serve as a training and development center for obstetrics specialists.

Next to the Obstetrics Hospital is the Central Pediatric Hospital Base 2, which includes: a 3-story administrative building, two 6-story inpatient treatment blocks, and a basement level.

The Central Pediatric Hospital Base 2 has a capacity of 300 inpatient beds with modern and synchronized medical equipment and infrastructure.

It is expected that in the first quarter of 2025, the Central Pediatric Hospital Base 2 will be operational. Along with reducing the workload of Base 1 in the city center, it is also hoped to become a center for training and developing pediatric specialists.

To enhance connectivity with the two hospitals, in November, the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the investment project to construct access roads to the hospitals.

The project involves the construction of three roads with a total length of nearly 3 km, to be completed between 2024 and 2025.
