On February 9th (the 30th day of Lunar New Year), Tan Son Nhat International Airport announced that it is expected to operate 753 flights on the last day of the Year of the Cat. Among them, there are 655 passenger flights with a total of over 100,000 passengers.
This number is significantly lower than in previous days. Compared to the peak of the pre-Tet period with over 134,000 flights, the number of passengers traveling to Tan Son Nhat decreased by over 34,000 flights.
Among them, passengers departing from the domestic terminal from Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the South amounted to over 43,000 passengers, a significant decrease compared to previous days.

In terms of operational time, the busiest period on the 30th day of Tet is during the morning from 9 am to 1 pm; in the afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm; and in the evening from 9 pm to 10 pm.
Notably, on the New Year’s Eve transitioning to the new year, Tan Son Nhat airport still had about 30 inbound and outbound flights with nearly 900 passengers.

A representative from Tan Son Nhat International Airport provided information that the operations at the airport are safe and smooth. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to hometowns for Tet during the evening of the 29th day of Tet also departed on schedule without delays.
A quite unexpected development on the 30th day of Tet is that Tet air tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to provinces in Central and Northern regions, especially from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, are priced lower than the peak period in the previous days.
Early this morning, reporters from Người Lao Động newspaper surveyed prices of some flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh… and found that there are still tickets available for immediate travel on the last day of the year.
