The Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway project was invested in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP), with a total investment of VND 8,925 billion. After 28 months of construction, the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway has completed 70km of road, 35 bridges, 2 interchange intersections, 69km of access road, 2.25km of tunnel through the mountain, along with a system of equipment, ITS system…

This expressway allows traffic to travel at a maximum speed of 90 km/h, using an intelligent transportation system (ITS) and a team of management and operation synchronized over the entire route. On the route, there is a 2.25 km long Nui Vung tunnel, with one tunnel tube used for two-way traffic in the first phase.

The surveillance cameras installed along the route use AI technology to classify vehicles, recognize license plates, detect, and warn of incidents and violations such as speeding, driving in the wrong lane, driving in the opposite direction…

The Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway connects to the Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway, Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet Expressway and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway has been officially inaugurated, shortening the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang to about 5 hours.

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, with the spirit of “overcoming sun, overcoming rain”, “eating spontaneously, sleeping urgently”, “only discussing doing, not discussing retreating”…, the consortium of investors, contractors gradually overcame project difficulties, applying inverted arch method initiatives to overcome weak geological conditions.

The project has been approved for acceptance by the State Inspection Council for Construction Works.

The two expressways Cam Lam – Vinh Hao and Dien Chau – Bai Vot were put into operation, increasing the total number of expressway routes on the North – South axis to 1,187km and the total length of expressway routes across the country to over 2,000 km.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister has proposed the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to focus on directing the completion of the second tunnel on Nui Vung and the remaining kilometers on the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway.

The Prime Minister also requested that provinces with expressways pay attention to and take care of the lives of local people to be equal to or higher than before the project was implemented. At the same time, review and open more interchanges to create space for development, improve the effectiveness of expressway exploitation.
