According to a survey by our reporters, at the end of April 2024, Yamaha’s cheapest scooter model – Janus – is being heavily discounted by dealers to attract buyers amidst a sluggish market.

Specifically, the standard version of the Yamaha Janus is currently being offered by dealers at a price of 23.9 million VND, the special version is priced at 27.5 million VND, and the limited version is priced at 28 million VND. At this time, the selling price of the Janus is almost 5 million VND lower than the suggested price set by the manufacturer. Moreover, the actual selling price of the standard version of this scooter model is even cheaper than the Honda Future 125 Fi and is only comparable to low-priced motorbike models such as the Honda Wave Alpha and Honda Wave RSXt

Meanwhile, the Honda Vision is selling quite well. At some dealerships, the standard version of the Vision is being offered for as low as 30.99 million VND, while the high-end version is priced at 32.5 million VND. The special version is priced at 34.8 million VND at dealerships. Conversely, the Honda Vision classic version has increased sharply by 1.7 million VND compared to the end of March 2024, to 38.5 million VND, which is 1.9 million VND higher than the listed price.

In the Vietnamese market, the Yamaha Janus and Honda Vision are considered the “golden geese” of the two Japanese automakers, consistently maintaining good sales.

In terms of appearance, both the Honda Vision and Yamaha Janus have a compact design with a low seat. However, each model has a different design language. Accordingly, the Honda Vision has a modern design style and the lines and colors of the vehicle are somewhat neutral to suit both male and female users. The dimensions of the vehicle are 1,871mm x 686mm x 1,101mm in length, width, and height, respectively; the seat height is 761mm; and the wheelbase is 1,255 mm.

The Yamaha Janus, on the other hand, impresses with its dynamic and youthful design, combined with a soft and elegant look. The vehicle has dimensions of 1,850 mm x 705 mm x 1,120 mm in length, width, and height, respectively; a seat height of 770 mm; and a wheelbase of 1,260 mm. This size is suitable for people of modest height, especially women, who will find it easy to handle and move around the vehicle.

Despite being mid-range scooters, the Honda Vision and Yamaha Janus are both equipped with a series of modern technologies and conveniences that are not inferior to other high-end models.

Both models are equipped with SmartKey, which allows for vehicle location and effective anti-theft protection. However, this feature is not available on the standard versions of the Honda Vision and Yamaha Janus, but only on the higher versions of the two models.

In addition, both the Janus and Vision use halogen lamps and modern LED positioning lamp technology. However, while all versions of the Yamaha Janus are equipped with this feature, the standard version of the Honda Vision does not have it.

In addition, both models have an analog clock combined with an LCD screen that displays the distance and fuel consumption. In this regard, the Janus is rated higher as the vehicle’s clock also displays the time.

Conversely, the Honda Vision has a trunk capacity of up to 18 liters, while the Yamaha Janus has only 14 liters. In addition, Honda also equips the Vision with a charging port so you can quickly charge your mobile devices.

Powering the Janus 2022 is a SOHC engine with Blue Core technology with a displacement of 125cc, 4-stroke, and air-cooled. It is mated to a VCT continuously variable transmission and an FI electronic fuel injection system. This engine produces a maximum power of 9.4 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm. According to the manufacturer, the Janus consumes only 1.87 liters of gasoline for 100 km.

The Honda Vision 2022 uses an eSP engine with a displacement of 109.5cc, producing a maximum power of 6.59 kW at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.29 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This engine incorporates electronic fuel injection and an idling stop system. The fuel consumption of the vehicle is 1.88 liters/100 km.

If you prioritize a youthful design style, a variety of colors, and an affordable price, the Yamaha Janus would be a reasonable choice. On the other hand, if you want a scooter that is durable and operates stably, you can choose the Honda Vision.
