The Thang Long Boulevard to Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh Expressway connecting road project, with a length of 6.7km, broke ground on the morning of October 10, 2023. The total investment capital exceeds 5,200 billion VND, connecting from the roundabout interchange between Thang Long Boulevard Expressway and National Highway 21, Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district; The end point (Km6+700), with the Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh road at the intersection with the Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh expressway, Yen Binh commune, Thach That district.
The road has a cross-section scale of 120m- 180m, making it one of the widest roads in Vietnam (breaking the record of Thang Long Boulevard, once known as the most modern and widest boulevard in Vietnam with an average cross-section of 140m).

This project is divided into 3 construction packages. Package 31, with an implementation time of 22 months, will construct three bridges on the route and 2km of road; Package 32, with an implementation time of 28 months, will construct approximately 4km of road and one bridge. The contract was signed with the construction contractor in December 2023, and Package 33 will implement the remaining items.
In order to have a construction site, the project must reclaim and clear approximately 105.8ha of land, and is expected to be completed in 2026. According to the plan between the parties, in April, Thach That district will hand over the entire area of agricultural land and land of organizations and units to the investor to implement the project. With a project site area of more than 105ha, the district has only handed over more than 7ha, accounting for about 10% of the volume, and this affects the construction of the project.
