Nghe An: 888 Businesses Registered for Temporary Suspension of Operations

According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office, Nghe An province registered 672 newly established businesses in the first 4 months of 2024, an increase of 2.44% (+16 businesses) compared to the same period of 2023, with a total registered capital of 12,600 billion VND, an increase of 2.5 times (+7,624 billion VND). The number of newly established branches, representative offices, and business locations was 254, an increase of 2% (+5 units).

In the first 4 months of the year, the province had 368 businesses resuming operations, a decrease of 8% (-32 businesses). The number of branches, representative offices, and business locations returning to operation was 43, a decrease of 14% (-7 units). The number of businesses that registered for temporary suspension of operation in Nghe An was 888, an increase of 21.31% (+156 businesses) compared to the same period; 89 branches, representative offices, and business locations registered for temporary suspension of operation, an increase of 8.54% (+7 units).

INDUSTRIAL INDEX INCREASES DUE TO ENTERPRISES’ EFFORTS TO RESUME PRODUCTION

In the first 4 months of 2024, the industrial production index of Nghe An province increased by 8.58% compared to the same period. In which, the industry of Water supply, waste, and wastewater management increased by 11.9%; manufacturing and processing industry increased by 9.57%; mining industry increased by 4.79%; electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution decreased by 0.36%.

According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office, the industrial production index of Nghe An increased because businesses have resumed production and the demand for certain products has increased such as: Electricity cable production services have reached 2,522.1 billion VND, doubled by 2.2 times; concrete production reached 155.5 thousand m3, doubled by 2.1 times; processed stone reached 373.5 thousand m3, increased by 68.53%; carton boxes reached 7.9 million pieces, increased by 42.28%…

Some of the province’s products decreased due to reduced export orders, large inventory, increase of raw material prices, and limited production by factories, leading to decrease of production output, such as: Chargers reached 3.4 million units, decreased by 70.87%; BSE speakers reached 17.1 million units, decreased by 32.37%; fish sauce reached 80.6 million liters, decreased by 30.97%…

BUDGET REVENUE OF MORE THAN VND 7,700 BILLION

In terms of investment, since the beginning of the year, Nghe An province has granted 23 new projects, and adjusted the total investment capital of 16 projects. The total amount of newly granted and adjusted capital is over 15,043 billion VND, the total newly granted investment capital is 1.27 times higher than the same period.

Total state budget revenue in the province in the first 4 months of 2024 is estimated at 7,711.9 billion VND, reaching 48.49% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People’s Council and increasing by 28.9% compared to the same period of 2023. In which, domestic revenue is estimated at 7,223.5 billion VND, reaching 49.71% of the estimate, increasing by 28.8% compared to the same period. The estimated revenue from import and export activities is 1,300 billion VND, the estimated achievement in the first 4 months of 2024 is 483.3 billion VND, reaching 37.18% of the estimate and increasing by 28.5% compared to the same period of 2023.

Compared to the same period last year, most of Nghe An province’s revenues have increased, especially some major revenues such as: Revenue from non-state-owned industrial and commercial businesses, land use fees, and revenue from import and export activities.

TRADE AND SERVICES ACTIVITIES CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN GROWTH

The total retail sales of goods and services in April 2024 is estimated at 11,273.4 billion VND, equivalent to 72.58% of the previous month, an increase of 25.75% compared to the same period last year. In the first 4 months of 2024, the total retail sales of goods and services in the province are estimated to reach 51,808.9 billion VND, an increase of 42.25% compared to the same period of 2023.

The revenue from accommodation and food services in the province, after 4 months of 2024, is estimated to reach 5,816.6 billion VND, an increase of 56.35% compared to the same period. In which, accommodation revenue is estimated to reach 578.2 billion VND, an increase of 44.37%; and food revenue is estimated to reach 5,238.4 billion VND, an increase of 57.8%.

Nghe An’s tourism revenue, after 4 months of 2024, reached 100.1 billion VND, an increase of 76.85% compared to the same period last year. April is the peak month for tourism, and during this month there are many holidays such as Hung King’s Anniversary, April 30, and May 1. Therefore, the number of tourists is expected to increase.

Revenue from other service activities in Nghe An province, in the first 4 months of 2024, reached 8,533 billion VND, an increase of 2.7 times compared to the same period. In which, the group of art, entertainment, and recreation services has doubled by 2.4 times.

After 4 months of 2024, revenue from the freight transport sector in the province is estimated at 3,674.3 billion VND, an increase of 1.52% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from warehousing and transportation support services is estimated at 898.5 billion VND, an increase of 55.46% compared to the same period. Postal and delivery revenue is estimated at 9 billion VND, an increase of 78.22% compared to the same period last year.
