On July 31, the Investigative Police Agency of Thu Duc City Police announced that they had handed over Nguyen Van Si (47, from Kien Giang) to the Ninh Kieu District Police, Can Tho City, for handling according to regulations.
Nguyen Van Si was wanted by the Ninh Kieu District Police according to Decision No. 1408 dated May 27 for “Violation of regulations on multi-level business.”
Previously, in May 2019, Nguyen Van Si was the director of a company with an office in Can Tho City. This office operated without a business registration certificate and engaged in illegal multi-level marketing activities, mainly by calling on people to contribute money to invest in the company’s projects.
Mr. Si convinced 49 people to invest in the company’s business projects, promising high-interest rates. The total amount invested was over 1 billion VND. However, after a period of operation, the company failed to pay interest to its customers, leading to accusations.
Subsequently, Mr. Si left Can Tho and went to Ho Chi Minh City to sell functional food products and earn commissions.
In May 2024, the Ninh Kieu District Police initiated legal proceedings and issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Van Si for “Violation of regulations on multi-level business.” During this time, Si left his locality without informing the authorities, leading to the issuance of a wanted notice by the Ninh Kieu District Police.
Comprehensive regional connectivity
In addition to building strong physical infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City needs to strengthen its soft connections with other provinces in the region in order to promote economic development. This includes prioritizing the training of skilled workforce and ensuring access to quality healthcare.
Emotional Kieu people when admiring Ho Chi Minh City from Metro Line 1
Ho Chi Minh City has undergone a remarkable transformation since the day I left. It now boasts a completely different appearance, exuding a fresh and vibrant energy. This sentiment was captured by Mr. Nguyen Duong Nam Phuong, a Vietnamese American, who was amazed by the city’s newfound liveliness.
