Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee presents gifts to 10 households along the expressway route.

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that with the participation of the entire political system, especially the high consensus of the people, the province soon handed over the construction ground for the expressway. On this basis, the contractors have focused on implementation and so far have basically ensured the progress as required. The expressway project through the province will be completed earlier than scheduled, creating room for development and solving jobs for the people. In the past time, the authorities at all levels, the construction unit, and the people have closely coordinated in the implementation of Component Project 3. The construction unit needs to continue to promote the spirit of “4 on-the-spot” in the process of implementing the project to be determined to bring the expressway to an early finish.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee informed that in the past time, the National Assembly and the Government have paid great attention to the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the Mekong Delta region and invested a lot of resources in the construction of expressways in the provinces. Hau Giang province alone has two expressways passing through (Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway, phase 1 and Can Tho – Ca Mau expressway) with a total length of about 100 km. The construction and early operation of these two expressways are of great significance, helping to shorten travel time between localities within the province and between Hau Giang and other provinces and cities in the region. At the same time, it opens up a new development space, especially creating a driving force for industrial development, solving jobs, and improving the lives of the people.

On behalf of the team participating in the construction of Component Project 3, Engineer Duong Duc Hoa said that promoting the spirit of “overcoming the sun and winning the rain”, “eating hastily and sleeping urgently”, and “3 shifts, 4 groups”, officials and workers are always aware of their responsibilities; unite, be diligent and work hard to live up to the trust of leaders at all levels and the people who are looking forward to the early completion of the project.

According to the Hau Giang Department of Transport, the Investment Project for Construction of Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, Phase 1 was approved by the National Assembly on June 16, 2022. The section passing through Hau Giang province is Component Project 3, which is nearly 37km long and is implemented in Chau Thanh A and Phung Hiep districts.

Component Project 3 has a total investment of over VND 9,600 billion. The starting point is at Truong Loi hamlet, Truong Long A commune, Chau Thanh A district, and the endpoint is at Bung Tau town, Phung Hiep district. The project was started on June 17, 2023, and so far has basically followed the required progress milestones. The contractors have mobilized human resources, equipment, and organized nearly 40 construction sites with more than 100 production teams. Up to now, the total value of the two packages has reached over 16% of the contract value.

In Package No. 1, the leaders of Hau Giang province visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to engineers, workers, and employees constructing the work. At the same time, 10 gifts were given to households along the expressway route, who have actively coordinated with local authorities and contractors in the implementation of the project in the past time.
