VinFast’s internal source has just revealed the sales figures for the VF 5, an SUV model in the Vietnamese market. Accordingly, by the end of July, this model had sold nearly 2,600 units, making it Vietnam’s best-selling car for the month of July. According to data from VAMA and Hyundai Thanh Cong, the closest competitor to the VF 5 in terms of sales is the Mitsubishi XForce, which sold only 1,745 units.

Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year to the end of July, the VinFast VF 5 has sold approximately 15,000 units, also the highest in the market – far surpassing the second-placed Mitsubishi Xpander, which sold 9,265 units. Other models in the best-selling list, such as the Ford Ranger, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Accent, also lag behind the VF 5 by a significant margin.

According to this source, the introduction of a new range of colors with unique, elevated color options that cater to diverse customer groups has positively impacted the VinFast VF 5’s sales performance.

In July, the company announced the addition of “enhanced” colors for the VF 5, including yellow, pink-purple, light blue, and light green, in addition to the previous basic colors of gray, red, blue, and white.

Customers who placed orders during the period of July 7-10 also received a waiver on the new color fee (worth 20 million VND) and an additional gift of 10 million VND.

With the recently revealed sales figures, the VinFast VF 5 is gradually proving to be the flagship model of this Vietnamese brand, replacing the previous gasoline-powered Fadil. The VF 5 is equipped with an electric motor that generates 134 horsepower and a 37.2 kWh battery that delivers a range of 300 kilometers on a single charge.

The VF 5 is priced at 468 million VND without the battery and charging package, and 559 million VND with the battery and charging package included. At this time, car buyers will be exempt from registration fees and will also be able to charge their vehicles for free at VinFast charging stations for almost a year.

The VF 5 is currently VinFast’s best-selling model, but from now until the end of the year, another model from the same Vietnamese brand could become a strong contender for the “sales crown”. This is the VF 3, a mini SUV with a starting price of 240 million VND, which was officially delivered to Vietnamese customers in early August with a target of delivering at least 20,000 units by the end of the year.

Thus, it is highly likely that the Vietnamese car brand will have two models in the top-selling list in the market and may even become the car brand with the highest sales in Vietnam by the end of 2024.
