The first VinFast VF 3 owners have recently taken delivery of their vehicles and registered them for road use. Proud owners have been sharing their new license plate numbers online, alongside posts from those spotting the VF 3 out and about.

Social media post showcasing a VF 3 license plate worth over VND 500 million.

Among these posts, a gray VinFast VF 3 with an impressive license plate number stood out. After making rounds on various online groups, a user attempted to look up the plate number on an auction database and estimated its value at VND 505 million.

This estimate surprised many, as the VinFast VF 3 without a battery pack costs only VND 240 million – meaning that at this price, the license plate alone costs the same as two VF 3 vehicles.

The actual price of the license plate was VND 135 million, contrary to the information circulating on social media.

However, this information is inaccurate!

According to the database of Vietnam Joint Stock Auction Company’s official website, the license plate number in question was indeed auctioned off.

Specifically, the plate was auctioned between 10:00 and 10:35 on 06/07/2024, but the winning bid was only VND 135 million, significantly lower than the rumored price on social media.

Nonetheless, the official data shows that the license plate is still worth half the price of the vehicle, which some consider a valuable “accessory” for the car.
