The AI Center and Auxiliary City project, spanning 93.24 hectares and with a total investment of VND 4,362 billion, has officially broken ground in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.
This project is led by a consortium, FPT Quy Nhon, comprising three units: FPT City Danang Joint Stock Company, FPT Investment Company Limited, and FPT Software Company Limited.
The project aims to foster innovation, investment, and research and development in artificial intelligence technologies, as well as establish an auxiliary city with a focus on AI. This will contribute to attracting and retaining tech talent, helping position Binh Dinh as a regional AI hub. Upon completion, the project is expected to play a significant role in realizing Binh Dinh’s vision of becoming a regional AI center.
“The construction of this Center demonstrates Binh Dinh province’s commitment to actively participating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in line with the orientations of the Political Bureau in Resolution No. 52. It will boost the province’s scientific and technological potential, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, and Big Data, thereby driving the development of the digital economy and enhancing Binh Dinh’s competitiveness in the digital age,” said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
“I believe that Binh Dinh will soon become a regional and even global hub for AI and semiconductors. In fact, our AI Research and Application Center in Binh Dinh is currently executing projects worth hundreds of thousands, even millions of USD, for clients in the US, Japan, and Europe,” shared Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT’s Board of Directors.
“Technology can enable companies, cities, provinces, and even nations to excel. To help Binh Dinh rapidly become a regional hub for AI and semiconductors, addressing the world’s most significant challenges, we will work alongside the province to train and develop AI talent and attract leading AI experts from Vietnam and worldwide.”
The project comprises three main functional areas: the AI Center, the Education and Training Area, and the Auxiliary City.
– The AI Center will focus on research, training, software production, digital transformation support, and providing cybersecurity, social security, and AI solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and service value.
– The Education and Training Area will host a school offering primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary education.
– The Auxiliary City will provide essential amenities and services tailored to the unique needs of an AI-centric city, attracting high-quality human resources to Binh Dinh, especially in the fields of high technology, new technology, and AI.
Currently, FPT is educating approximately 2,000 students in Binh Dinh. The FPT University branch in Binh Dinh, which began operations in 2021, specializes in AI-focused education.
