On September 20, 2024, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Hanoi International Techcombank Marathon took place in Hanoi.

At the opening ceremony, in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Organizing Committee of the Race launched a campaign urging athletes to join hands in sharing difficulties with people in flood-affected areas, affirming the humanitarian spirit and community solidarity of the Race.

Techcombank, the strategic sponsor, together with the Hanoi government, presented a donation of VND 1 billion through the Long Bien District Social Security Fund and three sports federations of the city. Previously, Techcombank had donated VND 3 billion to support families affected by Storm No. 3 in the northern provinces. Through this event, we honor the precious cultural and historical values of Hanoi – a thousand-year-old city that is vigorously and dynamically reaching out to the international community. This season’s race takes place as the whole country is joining hands to share difficulties with people in storm and flood-affected areas. The practical support from the Organizing Committee and the athletes’ contributions demonstrate the spirit of unity , sharing , and spreading the humanitarian values of the Race to the community.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Rob Zamacona, General Director of Sunrise Events Vietnam (SEV), the event organizer, expressed his pride and honor to be back in Hanoi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the capital’s liberation. “We are also proud to accompany our strategic partner and main sponsor, Techcombank, a unit that always dedicates itself to the development of the running movement in Vietnam. We commit to making our best efforts to organize and operate the race safely and qualitatively, following international marathon standards, to bring the best experience to the athletes,” he said. He also believes that this event will continue to thrive and become an indispensable symbol of Hanoi, just as the marathons in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore have become integral to the identity of those cities.
