This 10-kilometer stretch of road is part of National Highway 1A. Starting from Suoi Tien Cultural Park in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, and ending at Dong Nai Port in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, this road passes through three provinces/cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai.
Along this 10-kilometer route are several important locations that have a significant impact on the socioeconomic landscape of the Southeast region, including Suoi Tien Station (part of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro line), the new Eastern Bus Station, Binh Duong Port, and Dong Nai Port.
Suoi Tien Cultural Park is the first destination along this route. Officially opened to visitors in 1995, Suoi Tien spans an area of 1.05 square kilometers. It is a leading entertainment complex in Vietnam, combining cultural, historical, and spiritual elements.
Next to the park is Suoi Tien Station, part of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro mega-project, which is currently under construction. The Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro is one of Vietnam’s key infrastructure projects, with a total investment of VND 43,000 billion. The 19.7-kilometer line includes 14 underground and elevated stations, and Suoi Tien is the final station on this route.
About 2 kilometers from Suoi Tien Cultural Park and Suoi Tien Station is the new Eastern Bus Station. Inaugurated in April 2020, this “super bus station” has the largest investment capital in the country, amounting to VND 4,000 billion. It is estimated to serve over 7 million passengers annually, accommodating around 21,000 passengers and 1,200 departing buses daily. However, the station currently experiences low passenger volume. In the first six months of this year, it served approximately 1.15 million passengers, utilizing only about 30.4% of its designed capacity.
Binh Duong Port is one of Vietnam’s leading international seaports. In 2014, it was recognized as the only international container port in Binh Duong, the province with the most dynamic economy in the country. Binh Duong Port handles an average of 822 standard 6-meter containers per day.
Directly across from Binh Duong Port is Dong Nai Port. Dong Nai Port is classified as a first-class port and belongs to the group of fourth-class ports. It comprises two international commercial port areas: Long Binh Tan Port and Go Dau Port, covering a total area of 0.79 square kilometers with 12 wharves. Dong Nai Port serves as a transportation hub for the Southern Key Economic Region, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Binh Duong.
These two top-tier ports in the country are connected via the New Dong Nai Bridge. Constructed in June 2008 adjacent to the old bridge, the new bridge has a total investment of over VND 1,870 billion. The main bridge spans over 460 meters in length and 20 meters in width, accommodating five lanes of traffic.
Located at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, this 10-kilometer road connects the city with Binh Duong and Dong Nai, facilitating economic activities in the region.
