The Annual Announcement of Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam is a prestigious event, held consecutively for 10 years, implemented under Resolution 398/TB-VPCP dated December 15, 2015, by the Government Office. The program increasingly affirms the position and sustainable value of the CSI Index within Vietnam’s business community.
The event is organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD). It is coordinated under the guidance of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Ministry of Finance, with professional support from Deloitte Vietnam.
The CSI Index has garnered increasing recognition from the Government, organizations, and the Vietnamese business community for its effectiveness and practicality in supporting and promoting Sustainable Development (SD) practices. In Resolution 136/NQ-CP dated September 25, 2020, on Sustainable Development, the Prime Minister directed VCCI to continue assessing sustainable businesses using the CSI Index in line with international practices. The resolution also mandates the annual announcement of the CSI rankings for businesses through mass media and encourages its broader adoption within the business community.
The CSI 2025 Index comprises 145 indicators, divided into two levels: Core (C) and Advanced (A). Core indicators account for 60%, while Advanced indicators make up 40%. The CSI 2025 Index has been updated to align with Vietnam’s 2025 legal and policy requirements and international sustainability reporting standards, tailored to Vietnam’s context. It integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) elements.
