On the evening of April 26th, the Nghi Son Township People’s Committee in Thanh Hoa Province officially launched the 2024 Coastal Tourism Festival themed “Nghi Son – Precious Pearl, Aspiration to Soar High”.
The event was attended by former leaders of central ministries, leaders of Thanh Hoa Province, representatives of departments, agencies, and localities within the province, as well as the People’s Committees of Hoang Mai Township (Nghe An Province) and Dinh Hoa District (Thai Nguyen Province), along with thousands of local residents and tourists.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Nghi Son Township People’s Committee Nguyen The Anh emphasized that Tinh Gia in the past and Nghi Son today is a land with a rich cultural, historical, and revolutionary tradition. It is a place where unique material and spiritual values converge, producing many talented people who have made their mark in history. Nghi Son proudly possesses tourism development potential, such as ecological tourism and historical-cultural tourism, especially coastal and resort tourism. With a 42-km coastline and convenient transportation connections, Nghi Son is an area of picturesque mountains and beautiful nature.
In recent years, Nghi Son tourism has flourished, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and relax, especially the Hai Hoa coastal tourist area, Nghi Son island eco-tourism area, and Anh Phat. Many coastal tourism investment projects have been and are being developed in the wards of Hai Ninh, Hai An, Tan Dan, Hai Linh, Ninh Hai, and others.
In addition to coastal tourism, the locality also has historical, cultural, and spiritual relics, such as the Hoằng Quốc Công Đào Duy Từ Temple, Quang Trung Temple, Lạch Bạng Temple, Thanh Xuyên Temple, Bai Dong Pagoda, Cac Mountain scenic spot (where Am Cac Pagoda and Dot Tien Pagoda are located), Ba Lang Parish Church, and Bien Son Fortress, among others.
Nghi Son tourism has undergone significant changes in terms of landscape and appearance. The coastal area has been well-planned with various modern tourism infrastructure projects completed and put into operation. Restaurants, hotels, entertainment areas, and nearby historical and cultural relics have been renovated to reflect the appearance of a green, clean, beautiful, and hospitable tourism city.
Speaking to VnEconomy, Ms. Vu Huong Ly, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “It’s been many years since I last visited Nghi Son beach. In my memory, it was just a small, undeveloped fishing village. I saw information in the press and on social media platforms, so I imagined the changes that had taken place in this coastal area. But this afternoon, when I got here, I was really surprised by the well-developed infrastructure, transportation system, and clean beaches that the locality now has. In particular, the tourist service attitude of the local tourism industry is very friendly. I see that this place still has a lot of room for even stronger tourism development if it receives proper investment.”
At the opening ceremony of the festival, many special art programs were performed, impressing the attending tourists and contributing to promoting the existing beauty and tourism development potential of Nghi Son, in particular, and Thanh Hoa tourism, in general.
Along with the impressive and unique opening ceremony, a new feature of the 2024 Nghi Son Coastal Tourism Festival is the exhibition and product introduction area featuring 40 booths from enterprises and businesses in the township and several localities in and outside the province.
In addition, the Nghi Son Township People’s Committee also organized cultural activities and traditional folk games for locals and tourists, such as the rice cooking competition, the “Gia Hau Co Be Thuong Ngan” performance (a program that won the A prize at the 20th Thanh Hoa Ethnic Culture Festival in 2024), and the men’s open leather volleyball tournament.
Speaking to VnEconomy right after the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of the Nghi Son Township People’s Committee, said: “This is a significant event that creates a highlight to attract tourists and investors to Nghi Son Township. It is also an opportunity for the township to introduce and promote scenic spots, tangible and intangible cultural values, resources, and tourism products to friends and visitors. This will contribute to achieving the goal of building Nghi Son Township – Nghi Son Economic Zone into an economic center, a driving force for the province and the region, and by 2030, it will become a key coastal economic and urban center in the country.“
