According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), a large construction site has been formed on the project site with the participation of hundreds of construction teams, over 6,000 personnel, and 2,200 construction equipment.

The packages being implemented on the construction site are closely monitored, supervised, and accepted according to the technical standards of the project, ensuring quality and progress as required.

The first steel arch roof structure has been installed, with each steel beam weighing nearly 30 tons.

For Package 5.10, which includes construction and equipment installation for the passenger terminal building, started on August 31, 2023, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Package 5.10 includes construction items for the passenger terminal building (central terminal and three wings), with a structure of one basement and three floors, with a contract value of over VND 36,000 billion.

To lift the steel structure to the installation floor, the contractor used a 650-ton “giant” crane at the construction site.

To date, the passenger terminal has completed all reinforced concrete columns, beams, and slabs for the first, second, and third floors and is constructing the reinforced concrete beams and slabs for the fourth floor (with a total floor area of approximately 376,451 square meters). On August 22, the installation of the steel structure for Wing 2 and Wing 3 was carried out as planned and according to the contract schedule.

The construction is expected to be completed by December 2025, with the installation of the facade to be completed by March 2026, in parallel with the finishing work, equipment installation, and trial operation from the beginning of 2026, striving to complete all items before August 31, 2026.

For Package 4.6, which includes construction, equipment installation, and design of construction drawings for the runway (4000x45m); taxiways, aircraft parking aprons (cargo terminal, hangar, and isolation); and other works.

The construction progress of this package is on schedule, and the contractors are focusing their resources, equipment, and materials to strive for the technical exploitation of the runway by April 30, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Reunification of Vietnam.
