Northern industrial hub receives additional VND 11,000 trillion from Chinese energy giant.

Recently, the Management Board of Thai Nguyen Industrial Zones organized the awarding of Investment Registration Certificates for Trina Solar Cell (Vietnam) LLC, a subsidiary of Trina Solar Group, a leading Chinese company in the solar energy sector, in the Yen Binh Industrial Zone, Pho Yen City.

The Trina Solar Cell (Viet Nam) Limited Company Project is being implemented in CN-16 Lot, Yen Binh Industrial Park, Hong Tien Ward, Pho Yen City, with an area of 141,232.89 m².

The project has a production scale of 11,570 tons/year of monocrystalline silicon ingots and 555 million monocrystalline silicon wafers/year; 560 million solar cell panels/year. The total investment capital is about 11,067 billion VND, equivalent to 454 million USD. The project is expected to officially start operation in March 2025.

Prior to that, Trina Solar had implemented two projects in Yen Binh Industrial Park with a total registered investment capital of 478 million USD, including: Solar cell panel production project, solar energy module panel (with an investment capital of 203 million USD) and Silicon ingot and monocrystalline silicon wafer production project (with an investment capital of 275 million USD).

Both projects are produced using advanced technology, environmentally friendly, and in line with the province’s investment attraction orientation. Currently, both projects are operating stably, achieving a revenue of nearly 1.2 billion USD in 2023; providing stable employment for about 1,400 workers, of which 90% are Vietnamese workers.

In his speech at the ceremony, Comrade Le Kim Phuc, Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks in Thai Nguyen, entrusted that the company would continue to invest and make Thai Nguyen the development center of Trina Solar. Comrade Phuc expressed his hope that, during the investment process, the company will fulfill its commitments and implement the progress faster than committed to accompany the province’s development. In addition, for any difficulties and obstacles, the Management Board of Industrial Parks, levels, and departments of Thai Nguyen province committed to continue to accompany the company, resolve them together with the company, and create all necessary conditions and support as prescribed for the company to quickly start operating.
