**Movie “Lat Mat 7: Mot Dieu Uoc” Surges Ahead at Vietnamese Box Offices**

The cinematic release of “Lat Mat 7: Mot Dieu Uoc” by director Ly Hai has sparked a box office bonanza across Vietnamese theaters during the recent 30/4-1/5 holiday.

According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, an analytics agency tracking revenue data for screening halls across the country, Lat Mat 7 crossed the VND 200 billion (USD 8.5 million) mark as of May 2.

Combined with earnings from previous Lat Mat installments, Ly Hai becomes the second director to reach the VND 1,000 billion (USD 42.9 million) milestone in Vietnamese cinema history, joining Tran Thanh. The “Lat Mat” series also holds the record for being the highest-grossing Vietnamese film series of all time.

Prior to this, Tran Thanh was the first Vietnamese director to surpass the VND 1,000 billion mark with the success of “Bo Gia” (USD 18.3 million), “Nha Ba Nu” (USD 20.4 million), and “Mai” (over USD 22.5 million).

Across the seven “Lat Mat” films produced to date, Ly Hai Production Company Ltd. has been the consistent producer. The company is owned by Ly Hai and his wife.

Ly Hai Production was established on February 17, 2014, with its headquarters located in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. Its primary business involves producing feature films, videos, and television programs.

The company’s legal representative and director is Tran Minh Ha (born 1985), Ly Hai’s wife. Currently, the couple each holds a 50% stake in Ly Hai Production.

Ly Hai Production’s initial charter capital was VND 1.8 billion (USD 77,700). After two capital increases, by November 2023, the company’s charter capital had grown to VND 50 billion (USD 2.1 million).

Ly Hai also holds a VND 30 billion (USD 1.3 million) stake in Ly Son – Ly Hai Company Ltd., where he owns a 30% share. The company was founded in December 2014 and is headquartered in Long An province. Its primary activity is construction engineering.

Nguyen Van Son (born 1964) currently serves as Chairman of the Board, Managing Director, and legal representative for Ly Son – Ly Hai Company Ltd.
