Responding to the “120-day high-effort movement to ensure sufficient electricity supply during the 2024 dry season” initiated by the Vietnam Electricity Union and the campaign launched by the General Corporation, EPS Company has focused its resources and collaborated with power generation units to fulfill electricity production tasks during the 2024 dry season peak.
By implementing a series of solutions, including preventive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and focused maintenance to enhance reliability, along with effectively utilizing the remote monitoring and diagnostics system (RMS), the EPS repair workshops promptly detected and addressed faults and abnormalities. This ensured the reliable operation and availability of the power generation units at the three power centers: Phu My, Vinh Tan, and Mong Duong. Additionally, the company intensified in-house manufacturing and proactively sourced replacement spare parts to cater to various repair scenarios.

EPS completed 5 major repair projects at the Phu My 2.1 Thermal Power Plant Expansion
In the first six months of the year, EPS Company collaborated with Phu My Thermal Power Company to successfully complete five major repair projects at the Phu My 2.1 Thermal Power Plant Expansion, ensuring safety and quality while reducing the overall schedule by 17 days compared to the initial plan. This contributed to the early resumption of the unit’s readiness for mobilization during the dry season peak.
Currently, the EPS repair workshops are conducting periodic maintenance on unit S2 of the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant and the first major overhaul of unit S3 at the Vinh Tan 4 Power Plant. The goal is to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of the repair projects, thereby contributing to the electricity supply mission of the Vietnam Electricity Group and GENCO3 in 2024.
Regarding external repair services, EPS Company has secured 32 orders/contracts with 9 customers, including Van Phong 1, Song Hau 1, and Ca Mau 1 Thermal Power Plants. These projects have been highly effective, ensuring safety, quality, and timely progress.
Since March 1, 2024, EPS has been executing the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract with EVN for the management and operation of the Phu My 3 Power Plant. This is the first BOT power plant handed over to Vietnam and EVN after 20 years of operation under a BOT contract. Currently, the units are operating safely, reliably, and economically, ready to respond to all operating modes as directed by the National Load Dispatch Center.

The continuous creativity movement in the company’s work has received enthusiastic participation from EPS’s employees.
For the last six months of 2024, EPS Company aims to continue its collaboration with power generation units, focusing on regular maintenance and repairs to ensure the availability of power generation units. The company will complete the major repair projects for the year, leverage its advantages and experience in serving major customers such as the Thang Long Power Plant and the Nghi Son 2 BOT Power Plant, explore the application of advanced repair and maintenance solutions, develop in-house manufacturing for restoration purposes, ensure the stable operation of the Phu My 3 Power Plant, and prepare for the handover of the Phu My 2.2 BOT Power Plant.
