In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out that along with the achievements and very basic results, Lam Dong still faces difficulties, limitations, and challenges that need to be addressed and resolved.
The Prime Minister requested Lam Dong to make three breakthroughs, including a breakthrough in developing science and technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as applying the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the fields of agriculture and services.
A breakthrough in developing the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge-based economy, sharing economy, night-time economy, and climate change response, as well as promoting cultural and entertainment industries.
A breakthrough in researching, building mechanisms and policies to mobilize all social resources and resources from the people and businesses to promote rapid and sustainable development, especially focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, culture, social welfare, and climate change response.
In addition, the Prime Minister also requested Lam Dong province to continue improving the business investment environment, focusing on administrative procedure reform; restructuring agriculture towards a green, organic, and valuable direction; planning raw material areas, diversifying markets, supply chains, production, and business; and developing forestry in association with forest protection, carbon credit sales, and increasing revenue from forests, bringing benefits to the people when growing forests so that they are assured of protecting forests.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister also requested the ministries and sectors to support Lam Dong in removing difficulties in the fields of transportation and minerals. Regarding the two expressway projects of Tan Phu – Bao Loc and Bao Loc – Lien Khuong, the Prime Minister requested the Government Office to arrange for Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to chair a meeting with the ministries, sectors, and Lam Dong province to review and remove obstacles for the two expressway projects, with the latest deadline of September 15.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment to study and remove difficulties in mineral planning to not only solve problems for Lam Dong but also for other localities, minimize negative impacts on production and life, and complete the removal of difficulties by September 2024.
According to Lam Dong province’s socio-economic report, the province’s GRDP growth rate in 2023 reached 5.63%, and in the first six months of 2024, it reached 2.97%. The GRDP scale in 2023 reached VND 115,800 billion (ranking 45th out of 63 provinces and cities), with a per capita GRDP of VND 86.12 million – the highest in the Central Highlands region. State budget revenue in 2023 reached VND 13,100 billion, and in the first seven months of 2024, it reached nearly VND 7,900 billion. Tourism continues to play a key role, with a total of 8.65 million tourist arrivals in 2023 and 940,000 arrivals in the first seven months of 2024 (an increase of 8%). The province is a leader in high-tech agriculture development, with an income per unit area of VND 245 million/ha, and has 109 out of 111 communes meeting the new rural standards. |
