The talented Vietnamese expert, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong (born 1989), takes on the role of AI Director at FPT Software, a subsidiary of the FPT Corporation. Dr. Phong has been recognized as one of the top 150 leaders driving AI development globally by Constellation Research, a leading digital transformation and disruptive technology advisory firm based in Silicon Valley. He has been named in their AI150 list, a testament to his contributions to the field.
According to R “Ray” Wang, founder and CEO of Constellation Research, “The AI field is rapidly evolving thanks to the involvement of pioneers, policymakers, and implementers who are making a significant difference across industries. AI150 is our effort to honor those contributing significantly to this revolution.”

As per Constellation Research, Dr. Phong has been instrumental in connecting FPT with leading AI companies and organizations worldwide. His efforts have helped FPT Software become one of the 50 founding members of the AI Alliance.
Dr. Phong holds a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a doctorate from the University of Tokyo. With a strong background in AI and machine learning, he has made significant research contributions during his time at Hitachi (Japan) and Mila (Canada). As AI Director at FPT, Dr. Phong has been pivotal in establishing partnerships with leading AI players such as NVIDIA, Mila, Landing AI, and AITOMATIC. Notably, FPT Software recently became a founding member of the AI Alliance, initiated by IBM and Meta.

According to Constellation Research, the representatives nominated for the AI150 list undergo a rigorous six-month evaluation process. The selected individuals demonstrate a profound understanding of AI’s practical applications and emerging trends globally. These criteria are based on thorough analyses of implemented projects and their reputation within the technology and business communities.
