On February 21st, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, surprised many people when he arrived at work in a car that couldn’t be more eye-catching.

Specifically, the car that the Prime Minister of Thailand drove was a Fiat Abarth 500e electric car that is not commonly seen in the area. Additionally, the car he used had a vibrant green exterior color.

The appearance of the Prime Minister in the unique car surprised many people. Typically, he travels in a luxury MPV car, the Lexus LM, and sits in the back seat.

Explaining the incident, the Prime Minister shared afterwards on his Facebook account that the Fiat Abarth 500e belongs to his daughter. He also admitted that he enjoys driving, just like when he was a businessman, and he is fascinated by the beauty and color of the Fiat car, so he used it to go to work.

Fiat currently does not have a sales channel in Thailand. The Stellantis Group, the parent company of Fiat, has only one brand in this country, as well as in many other Southeast Asian countries, which is Peugeot. Although Fiat is the largest brand of Stellantis, this car brand has virtually no presence in markets outside of Europe.

Fiat Abarth 500e is a small urban car that was first introduced in 2020, with dimensions even smaller than the Kia Morning. As a successor to the previous Fiat 500e, the new model has very modest specifications, using a maximum 42 kWh battery for a range of operation of 265 km. The single electric motor has a power output of 153 horsepower and a torque of 235 Nm. The estimated price for this model in Italy is $34,100 (838.7 million dong).
