Review of Q1/2024 ETFs: What Stocks will Fubon and FTSE ETFs Add or Remove?

According to BSC Research's forecast, Fubon ETF and FTSE ETF funds are expected to buy 19.5 million shares of NVL, 16 million shares of VND and VIX, as well as 12 million shares of EIB and VCG in the first quarter of 2024 review. On the other hand, 19 million shares of SBT, 7 million shares of SSI, and 5 million shares of KBC may be sold off.

On March 1, 2024, FTSE is expected to announce the list of component stocks for the FTSE Vietnam All-share Index and FTSE Vietnam Index. The review for the FTSE Vietnam 30 Index (referencing Fubon ETF) is also scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

By March 15, 2023, the restructuring of the entire portfolio of the ETFs referencing these indices is expected to be completed.

BSC Research predicts that in the first review of 2024, the FTSE Vietnam 30 Index (the reference index for Fubon ETF) is expected to remove SBT stock and add NVL stock.

Meanwhile, the FTSE Vietnam Index (the reference index for FTSE ETF) is not expected to add or remove any stocks. However, BSC Research notes that FRT stock may be considered for addition if it meets the market capitalization criteria.

According to BSC Research’s forecast, the Fubon ETF and FTSE ETF will heavily buy 19.5 million NVL shares, 16 million VND shares, and VIX shares, 12 million EIB shares, and VCG shares. On the other hand, 19 million SBT shares, 7 million SSI shares, and 5 million KBC shares may be sold.
