The Market Report on Recruitment for 2023 & Recruitment Demand for 2024 has just been released by Top CV Vietnam, which shows that IT – Software continues to be the industry with high recruitment demand and higher salaries compared to other professions.

EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES ARE IN DEMAND

According to the report by Top CV, in 2023, the IT – Software industry still had a high recruitment demand (13.2%), in which specialists (employees with more than 3 years of experience, not managers) were the most sought-after candidates (28.57%).

Although there is a high recruitment demand, this industry is considered not difficult to recruit, especially for Junior candidates (with less experience). This indicates that the labor supply in this field is relatively large, meeting the staffing needs of businesses at the current stage.

In 2024, IT – Software is also one of the target industries that businesses prioritize for recruitment.

Top CV also surveyed the average salary of popular professions from 2023 to 2024, based on nearly 300,000 job postings on this technology platform, showing that the IT – Software workforce generally has higher salaries compared to many other professions.

Specifically, for employees with less than 1 year of experience, IT – Software receives a salary ranging from 8 to 15 million VND; employees/specialists with 1 to 4 years of experience receive a salary ranging from 9 to 22 million VND; team leaders with 4 to 6 years of experience receive a salary ranging from 19 to 33 million VND.

For managers/team leaders with 6 to 13 years of experience, they can receive a salary ranging from 22 to 40 million VND. Interns in this industry also receive a stipend of 3 to 5 million VND.

However, the salary in the information technology sector also has significant differences between different professions. Accordingly, the software, application development, database management, cloud computing, user support, and project management industries have the highest salaries.

Specifically, in the software and application development industry, web programmers with 1 to 3 years of experience receive a salary ranging from 15 to 28 million VND, and with more than 5 years of experience, they can receive a salary ranging from 36 to 48 million VND.

Mobile application programmers in this industry with more than 5 years of experience can receive a salary ranging from 35 to 40 million VND, while with the same number of years of experience, game programmers receive a salary ranging from 33 to 52 million VND.

A little higher, embedded programmers with 3 to 5 years of experience have received a salary ranging from 24 to 50 million VND, and if they have more than 5 years of experience, they can receive a salary ranging from 25 to 60 million VND…

FOCUSING ON OPTIMIZING THE WORKFORCE

In addition to IT – Software, the report by Top CV also states that in 2024, with new circumstances, optimizing the workforce is necessary, but generally businesses in some other industries still plan to increase the number of employees.

Up to 75.8% of surveyed representatives shared that their businesses still intend to recruit more in 2024 to serve their business goals.

About 18.1% affirm that they will continue to maintain the current workforce. 6.1% believe that their businesses will have the ability to continue optimizing human resources in 2024 by reducing the number of employees and transitioning to multitasking.

The expected increase in this context could come from increasing the proportion of recruitment for “in-demand” industries such as Business/Sales; IT – Software,… to serve business promotion goals, alongside other reasons based on each company’s individual strategy.

The majority of increases are expected to range from 16 to 30% of the number of employees (out of the total scale of the business), while increases from 0 to 15% account for about 30.8%. The workforce optimization plans of 52.3% of companies will focus on the range of 0 to 15% and from 16 to 30% for 27.3%.

Business/Sales is still the industry expected to recruit the most in 2024. Besides, IT – Software and Marketing/Communication/Advertising will be the next target industries that businesses prioritize for recruitment.

The report results show that the top 3 integrated solutions evaluated by businesses will be prerequisites, supporting them in attracting and retaining talents in 2024, including: Access to high-quality job platforms with a large and high-quality candidate pool; advantages in being supported by the company in implementing flexible policies to attract and retain talents; increasing employee experience, enhancing workplace loyalty.
