The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently announced that it will approve and adjust the investment policy for the project to renovate and upgrade road 70, from Ha Dong – Van Dien – Tu Hiep intersection

This is a key road connecting Ha Dong district and Thanh Tri district, but it is often congested

Road 70, from Ha Dong to Tu Hiep intersection, is about 6 km long, running through densely populated areas and is a key route connecting national highway 6 and national highway 1A

This section of road is often congested and does not meet the transportation needs of the people

Every day, there are thousands of heavy trucks running along this road along with motorcycles

The road surface in some sections is only about 8-9 meters wide, without a median strip

Just two opposite-directional container trucks can fully occupy the road surface, forcing motorcycles to maneuver

On road 70, from Ha Dong to Van Dien, there are some serious traffic congestion points during peak hours, such as in front of K Tan Trieu Hospital, the intersection between road 70 and Chu Van An street

The intersection between road 70 and Xa La street and the final section of Chu Van An boulevard are the “black spots” for traffic congestion on road 70

At these locations, congestion occurs frequently even outside of peak hours

After the completion of the renovation and upgrading, the road is expected to contribute to reducing traffic congestion and promoting socio-economic development for the western area of Hanoi
