The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province has issued a letter assigning departments and relevant units to inspect and review all projects and works of Phuc Son Corporation (Phuc Son Company) and its members.

The provincial People’s Committee requested departments and relevant units to work with Phuc Son Company to inspect and review the projects and construction works that the company is investing in or implementing in the province.

This move is made by the local government to determine the continuation of investment and construction by Phuc Son Company for ongoing projects and to address any difficulties and obstacles. The provincial People’s Committee requires the units to implement and report the results before March 30, 2024.

Earlier in late February, the provincial People’s Committee directed departments and provincial-affiliated units, the provincial Tax Department, and the provincial Inspectorate, along with other localities, to provide all relevant records and documents related to the process of approving investment policies, selecting investors, and implementing investment and construction by Phuc Son Company and other related issues.

The Economic Crime Investigation Department of the Ministry of Public Security (Economic Police Department) has requested Khanh Hoa province to provide the above-mentioned information to assist in the investigation.

Prior to this, in February, Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Son Corporation, and many subordinates were indicted and detained by the Criminal Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security for investigation into serious accounting violations.

As reported by VietnamNet, in Khanh Hoa, Phuc Son Company is involved in many controversies related to the urban area project for trade, services, finance, and tourism in Nha Trang (Nha Trang’s old airport), where the land has been allocated but only infrastructure has been developed. Inside, it remains disorderly with overgrown grass. The company has been required by Khanh Hoa province to contribute over 11,000 billion VND to the state budget, but it has not fulfilled its financial obligations.

Phuc Son Group has also been assigned by the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee to carry out 3 BOT (build-operate-transfer) projects in transportation. These projects have been implemented for many years, but are still incomplete.

Phuc Son Company is also the developer of two urban area projects: Phuc Khanh 1 and Phuc Khanh 2 in Nha Trang City and Dien Khanh district. After nearly 10 years, the compensation and site clearance work for these two projects are still unfinished.
