On March 18, according to Tiền Phong, the Provincial Party Inspection Committee of Gia Lai province conducted an inspection when there were signs of violations by Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Linh (former Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, former Chairman of Chư Sê district People’s Committee for the term 2016-2021) and Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tâm (former Deputy Chairman of Chư Sê district People’s Committee, former Chairman of the Compensation, Assistance and Resettlement Council of Chư Sê district).

According to the source, Mr. Linh and Mr. Tâm showed signs of violations in the implementation of compensation, land clearance, and resettlement at the construction project of Ho Chi Minh road, Chư Sê bypass section.

As reported by Tiền Phong, the construction project of Ho Chi Minh road has a length of 10.8km, with a total investment capital of 248 billion VND, managed by Project Management Board 6 – Ministry of Transport. Gia Lai provincial People’s Committee assigned Chư Sê district People’s Committee as the investor for the component project of compensation, support, and resettlement.

However, through the inspection, Gia Lai Department of Natural Resources and Environment pointed out multiple violations in this project. Specifically, before and after the approval of the compensation plan, there were still complaints and petitions related to 70 households and individuals. The main content was the low land compensation price and incomplete support policies when reclaiming agricultural land…

Gia Lai Department of Natural Resources and Environment also believed that the causes of deficiencies, presence, and violations were due to the district People’s Committee lacking a specialized agency to carry out compensation and land clearance tasks.
