This is the largest wide-body aircraft order of Vietjet to date and one of the largest orders at this year’s Singapore Airshow. The aircraft will be operated on the airline’s expanding long-haul network as well as on high-demand services to destinations in the region. The new aircraft will replace the airline’s current leased A330-300 fleet and support the expansion of its network.

Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Vietjet in the airline’s next phase of expansion. The A330neo family will enable the airline to achieve the lowest possible seat operating costs and continue to offer customers the best value on every flight. The new aircraft will also be a perfect complement to the A321XLRs ordered by Vietjet earlier, allowing the airline to provide extended long-haul flights for passengers.”

Dinh Viet Phuong, Vice President and CEO of Vietjet, said: “The new A330neo aircraft is a strategic addition to Vietjet’s comprehensive fleet modernization plan, elevating the airline’s operational capabilities to a new level to serve its global expansion. With the advanced A330neo fleet, Vietjet will play an important role in Vietjet’s sustainable development strategy with ESG goals, aiming to achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050. I believe our passengers will soon benefit from flying on longer, more comfortable, modern routes with cost savings in the coming years.”

The A330neo features an award-winning Airspace cabin design, setting a new standard for comfort, space, and design, providing passengers with a unique flying experience. This superiority is evident through larger personal space, larger overhead stowage compartments, next-generation lighting systems, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment, and full connectivity.

Equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330-900 has a continuous range of 7,200nm/13,300km. As of the end of January 2024, the A330 family has received 1,771 orders from over 130 customers worldwide.

With a fleet of over 105 aircraft and continuously growing passenger transport volume, Vietjet is actively expanding its network across continents, developing new and modern fleets in partnership with strategic partner Airbus.
