According to CNC, General Motors’ Buick brand has officially introduced the 2024 smart version of the Electra E4 electric car in the Chinese market.

This model is priced at 159,900 NDT (equivalent to 547 million VND). The price of the high-end version is 182,900 NDT (equivalent to 626 million VND). If you want to buy the GS version, customers need to spend 192,900 NDT (equivalent to 660 million VND). The most expensive is the GS version with all-wheel drive, priced at 229,900 NDT (equivalent to 786 million VND). This price is equivalent to B-segment SUVs in Vietnam such as the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.

The 2024 Buick Electra E4 is a coupe SUV with dimensions of 4,818 x 1,912 x 1,580 mm and a wheelbase of 2,954 mm. The two lower versions use 19-inch alloy wheels, while the two higher versions come with 20-inch wheels. It has a luggage capacity of 441 liters.

Compared to the previous generation, the 2024 Buick Electra E4 retains its exterior design and interior equipment. The most notable change is the addition of the latest eConnect smart connectivity system, which includes many mobile applications and new car features such as Migu Kuaiyou, Migu Video, Kugou Music, QQ Music…

In terms of features and technology, the new E4 is equipped with an all-new VCS smart cockpit, highlighted by a standard 30-inch curved 6K display and integrated 8155 chip. Furthermore, the car introduces new in-vehicle applications and a two-zone voice recognition system for the driver and front passenger, capable of performing 10 consecutive commands within 25 seconds.

In terms of performance, the three lower versions of the 2024 Buick Electra E4 are equipped with a front-wheel electric motor producing a maximum power of 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 330 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The 65 kWh ultium lithium-ion battery provides a range of 530 km per full charge according to CLTC standard.

The GS version with all-wheel drive and two electric motors delivers a total power output of 283 horsepower and a maximum torque of 465 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h, the same as the three aforementioned versions. The 79.7 kWh battery provides a maximum range of 620 km.

As a low-to-mid-range SUV in the Buick lineup of SAIC General Motors, this vehicle is said to have achieved high sales targets when it was first introduced last year. With the introduction of the upgraded model with a significant price reduction compared to the original price, and the significant enhancement of intelligent technology features, this car becomes more attractive to consumers.

Previously, BYD joined the price war by introducing a significantly cheaper updated version of the popular Qin Plus sedan during the Lunar New Year. Not stopping there, the company continues to upgrade the Dolphin with a new price in order to maintain the distance from its competitors.

Following BYD’s footsteps, other brands including SAIC-GM-Wuling, Neta Auto, and Changan Deepal have also followed suit.

As the electric vehicle market in China becomes increasingly saturated, reducing prices has become a strategy to attract customers. This is a risky move, but it can also be effective in attracting more consumers to switch to environmentally friendly vehicles.
