Ba Ria Thermal Power raises highest dividend in 2023 since listing.

CTCP Bà Rịa Thermal Power (HOSE: BTP) hereby announces the cash dividend payment for the year 2023, sourced from undistributed post-tax profits brought forward from the development investment fund and remaining profits from previous years, at a rate of 26.47%.

With an execution rate of 26.47%, shareholders owning 1 share will receive 2,647 dong. Currently, BTP has nearly 60.5 million shares outstanding, estimating that the company needs to spend over 160 billion dong for this dividend round, the highest payment level of BTP since the listing in late 2009.

In early January 2024, BTP made an interim dividend payment for 2023 with a rate of 4.8% (equivalent to 480 dong per share), with a total payment amount of over 29 billion dong.

Prior to that, at the end of December 2023, in the written shareholder opinion solicitation documents, BTP submitted to the General Meeting of Shareholders approving the return of over 121.5 billion dong from the development investment fund, and at the same time carried out dividend payment in cash from undistributed post-tax profit (returned from the development investment fund and remaining profit from previous years) with an amount of over 160 billion dong, equivalent to a rate of 26.47%. The General Meeting of Shareholders approved this plan.

Thus, the total dividend rate for 2023 through 2 interim payments is 31.27% (3,127 dong/share). This is also the highest annual dividend rate of BTP since the listing.

The annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2023 of BTP only approved the profit distribution plan with a dividend rate of 6%, equivalent to 600 dong per share.

Regarding business performance, at the end of 2023, BTP recorded net revenue of nearly 788 billion dong, an increase of 53% compared to 2022; net profit increased slightly by 2% to nearly 73 billion dong.

On March 1st, the BTP stock price increased nearly 2% and closed at 18,350 dong/share, a 15% increase compared to the beginning of 2024, with an average trading volume of over 88,536 shares/session.
