Nearly 2 million international visitors flock to Vietnam during Lunar New Year

According to data from the Vietnam National Tourism Information Center, South Korea remained the largest market, sending 844,000 visitors to Vietnam in February.

The number of international visitors to Vietnam in February 2024 reached over 1.53 million. Therefore, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam in the first two months of the year reached over 3 million, an increase of 68.7% compared to the same period last year.

According to data from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, in February 2024, South Korea continued to be the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam with 844,000 visitors (accounting for 27.7%). China ranked second, Taiwan (China) ranked third, followed by the United States.

The Chinese market has shown impressive recovery. The markets of South Korea, Japan continue to grow strongly. Australia, Malaysia, India… are also among the top 10 largest markets of tourism in Vietnam.

The Vietnam National Tourism Administration evaluates the vibrant tourism activities and the results of international visitor arrivals in the first two months of 2024 as a very positive recovery for the tourism industry.

Many provinces and cities have high tourism revenue during the Tet holiday in 2024.

The activities to attract and receive tourists during the Lunar New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Horse have been well prepared. The visa policy implemented from August 15, 2023 has shown clear effectiveness. These are good signs for the Vietnamese tourism industry at the beginning of 2024, providing a basis to achieve the goal of welcoming 18 million international visitors this year.
