Audit Announcement for 18 Entities in Thanh Hoa Province

The State Audit Office will conduct audits on 18 units in Thanh Hoa province regarding issues such as the use of land use fee revenue, compliance with legal regulations in the management and leasing of public land, and timely detection of misconduct and corrupt practices.

On March 18, in Thanh Hoa, the State Audit announced the Decision of the State Auditor General on the audit Specialized topic of regulating, managing, and using land-use revenues for investment in economic and social development in 2023 in accordance with the Resolution of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council and the Specialized topic of managing and leasing public land in the period from 2022 to 2023 in Thanh Hoa province.

The audit aims to assess the accuracy and reasonableness of the information, adjusted data, and use of land-use revenues for investment in economic and social development, as well as the financial information of projects; evaluate compliance with the Resolution of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council regarding regulating, managing, and using land-use revenues for investment in economic and social development; recommend competent authorities to improve any shortcomings in policies and mechanisms; promptly detect any fraud, corruption, wastefulness, negativity, and clearly define the responsibilities of organizations and individuals to propose appropriate legal measures.

State Audit announces the audit of 18 units in Thanh Hoa

According to the decision, there will be 18 units audited this time. They include 4 departments: Department of Finance, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and State Treasury, as well as 14 districts, towns, and cities in the province including Thanh Hoa City, Sam Son City, Nghi Son Town, and the districts of Ngoc Lac, Quang Xuong, Thieu Hoa, Yen Dinh, Nga Son, Nhu Xuan, Hoang Hoa, Trieu Son, Dong Son, Tho Xuan, and Thuong Xuan.

The audit focuses on regulating, managing, and using land-use revenues for investment in economic and social development; investment capital; implementation costs of projects; compliance with laws, regulations on investment and construction management, finance, accounting, and related policies and laws.

The audit of the Specialized topic of managing and leasing public land in the period from 2022 to 2023 in Thanh Hoa province aims to evaluate compliance with laws, economic efficiency, effectiveness in managing and leasing public land; recommend competent authorities to improve any shortcomings, promptly detect any fraud, corruption, wastefulness, negativity, and clearly define the responsibilities of organizations and individuals to propose appropriate legal measures…”

Deputy Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thi stated that the Provincial People’s Committee will assign tasks to units and localities to provide information and documents for the audit on time to ensure the audit progress and timelines. At the same time, they hope that the State Audit will work objectively and transparently, clearly pointing out positive results, limitations, and deficiencies for Thanh Hoa province to provide specific instructions to units and localities in carrying out their assigned tasks and meet the development requirements of the province.

“The audit results will serve as a basis to identify and address difficulties and promote the process of Thanh Hoa province’s economic and social development,” said Deputy State Auditor General Bui Quoc Dung.
