MSCI Welcomes 5 Vietnamese Stocks to Frontier Markets Small Cap Index

During the Q1 2024 review, which took place on the morning of February 13, 2024, a total of 41 stocks were added and 21 stocks were removed from the MSCI Frontier Markets Small Cap Index. Vietnam contributed 5 new stocks, while 3 stocks went in the opposite direction.

In this specific review round, 5 Vietnamese stocks have been added to the index basket, including PGC, DHA, NAF, VPH, and VTO. On the other hand, NKG, SJS, and VPD have been removed from the index basket. However, NKG and SJS have been removed to be transferred to the MSCI Frontier Markets Index basket.

Therefore, after the Q1 review, the MSCI Frontier Markets Small Cap Index portfolio has added 20 new stocks, bringing the total number of stocks to 349.

As of January 31, Vietnamese stocks have the highest weight in the index basket, accounting for 31.47%. Bangladesh ranks second with 22.34%. However, none of the top 10 stocks with the highest weight are from Vietnam.

The changes will take effect from March 1, 2024. The next review will take place on May 14, 2024, based on CEST time (UTC +1, European time zone), which is the early morning of May 15, 2024 in Vietnam.
