Accompanied by the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ha Giang province Nguyen Van Son, and the leaders of the Departments of Planning and Investment of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung personally visited and inspected numerous construction sites along the 27.5 km long expressway in Ha Giang province. This includes the construction of bridges and roads, as well as many sections that pass through hills, small streams, and residential areas. On the construction site, hundreds of officials and workers from various contractors have been continuously working and maintaining operations even during the Lunar New Year. Up to present, many sections have completed the excavation and foundation work, and the overall shape of the road is becoming more and more visible.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the efforts made by Ha Giang province in land clearance and preparing the best conditions for the implementation of the project. The province has been providing support to contractors in order to complete the project as soon as possible, which will contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality and the whole country.
The Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway project is one of eight projects that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to add to the List of Important National Projects and the Key Transport Sector at Decision No. 1166/QD-TTg dated October 10, 2023.
The Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway has a total length of 105 km and a total investment of 10,000 billion VND. The government has assigned Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces as the managing authorities, and they are implementing the project as a public investment program for recovery and socio-economic development. This project is of great significance for the socio-economic development and national defense and security, as it contributes to the completion of the transportation infrastructure system in the northern mountainous region in general, and Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces in particular.
In Ha Giang province, the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway project (phase 1) started construction on May 28, 2023. It is the first expressway project to be implemented in Ha Giang province. The project has a total length of nearly 27.5 km, starting from the connecting point with Tuyen Quang province, at the end of the Vinh Tuy bridge in Vinh Tuy town, Bac Quang district, and ending at km27+480 in Tan Quang commune, Bac Quang district.
Upon completion, the project will play a significant role in forming an economic corridor connecting Hanoi and the Red River Delta region to Lao Cai via the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway and Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho expressway to Ha Giang. It will meet the increasing demand for travel and transportation of goods, address traffic congestion issues in the connection between Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang, and contribute to the local socio-economic development while ensuring national defense and security and enhancing the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.
