During the first day of customs clearance, there were 95 vehicles carrying 925 tons of goods for export to China through this open route, with a total value of goods reaching 3.7 million USD. The export items include fresh seafood, frozen seafood, and fruits.

Prior to that, according to the Lunar New Year holiday schedule in 2024, the functional forces at the Mong Cai (Vietnam) – Dong Hung (China) International Border Gate temporarily suspended customs clearance procedures from February 10th to February 17th (from the 1st to the 8th of the first lunar month).

However, after discussions and agreements between the relevant authorities of both sides, China has allowed customs clearance for imported goods from February 12th (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year), mainly fresh seafood from Vietnam for pre-arranged export through the Bac Luan II Border Gate area. During the Lunar New Year holidays (the 3rd and 5th day of the Lunar New Year), the Bac Luan II Border Gate exported 264 tons of goods.

During and after the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024, the functional forces at the Mong Cai border gate have arranged on-duty officers to ensure the implementation of quick and convenient procedures, serving the activities of export and import of goods, as well as safe and smooth border entry and exit activities.
