Unmistakable design of VinFast

VinFast’s debut at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) is making a strong impression on industry experts and car enthusiasts in the archipelago.

Car expert Narendra Wicaksana from Setir Kanan – a major automotive channel in Indonesia, said he was delighted to see VinFast in Indonesia. He had known about the Vietnamese automaker previously and even made a video about VinFast cars at an exhibition in Qatar last year. However, when he saw the electric cars in Indonesia, they still made a strong impression on him.

“The VinFast logo looks very impressive. From a distance, I can easily recognize that it is a VinFast car, not a car from any other brand,” said a happy Narendra Wicaksana.

A reviewer from Setir Kanan expressed his admiration for the design of VinFast’s electric cars. According to him, the VF e34 and VF 5 models have modern styling, minimalist interiors, and are very suitable for Indonesian users as well as the Southeast Asian market in general. As for the VF 6 and VF 7 models, he considers them “sexy” and said, “These two cars look very modern, sporty, and really impressive. The interior of the car is minimalist but eye-catching with a large central screen,” said the expert.

Jason Andhika Syarief, an automotive expert from CVT Indonesia, was also particularly impressed with the design of VinFast’s electric cars. He believes that VinFast’s lineup is very suitable for young consumers in Indonesia with its diverse, eye-catching colors and attractive design. “Design is a very important factor. The designs of some other electric car brands in Asia are outdated. Meanwhile, the design of VinFast cars is very attractive,” said Jason Andhika Syarief.

Jason Andhika Syarief (left), an automotive expert from CVT Indonesia, asserted that with its strengths in design and good prices for customers, there is no reason why VinFast cannot succeed in the Indonesian market.

He admitted that many of his friends shared their love for VinFast cars and he himself is considering buying a VF 6 or VF 7 model. Jason Andhika Syarief affirmed that, with the strengths in design and good prices for customers, there is no reason why VinFast cannot succeed in the Indonesian market.

“VinFast electric cars will soon become popular in Indonesia”

VinFast’s strengths are also recognized by industry experts in Indonesia in many other aspects. Hartono Kurrniawan (dealer of PT Bevos Auto Mandiri) said that he had the opportunity to experience many VinFast electric car models and was impressed with the car’s performance. “Easy to drive, fast acceleration, stable at high speeds, and really comfortable. Noise reduction is also very good,” he said.

Excellent after-sales service will also be a major advantage for VinFast to compete strongly in Indonesia. CEO Sandra Pohar (dealer of PT Gran Cipta Cerlang) said that Indonesian customers buying electric cars are often concerned about the issues that may arise when using the cars. “After-sales service is an extremely important factor for Indonesian consumers. If our dealers sell many cars but have poor after-sales service, we will lose customers. With VinFast’s after-sales service, we don’t worry about that. Therefore, VinFast electric cars will soon become popular in Indonesia,” shared the CEO.

She also appreciated VinFast’s professional approach to entering the Indonesian market, especially the plan to build a $200 million factory in the country. This is not commonly seen when foreign companies invest in Indonesia. It demonstrates VinFast’s seriousness in the largest auto market in Southeast Asia.

Regarding the price of electric cars, automotive expert Rockford Pojono (LugNutz Auto Junkie channel) pointed out that high-priced electric cars have been available in Indonesia for a few years but have had difficulty selling. Therefore, the successful formula for VinFast’s entry into the market is to offer affordable electric cars like the VF 5. Especially, according to him, a good price comes with quality products. “This is VinFast’s great advantage. I have experienced VinFast cars and found that the quality is very good,” he affirmed.

Summing up VinFast’s strengths, Hartono Kurrniawan (dealer of PT Bevos Auto Mandiri) highlighted three factors: product quality, price, and after-sales service. “These are all special strengths of VinFast. Therefore, I believe that many Indonesians will look to the VinFast brand,” Hartono Kurrniawan said with confidence.

On February 15, the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) opened at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center. At the event, VinFast introduced its range of electric cars with reverse steering for the first time in the market. VinFast is showcasing 6 models, VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, VF9, in segments from A-SUV to E-SUV at IIMS 2024. Among these models, VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, and VF 7 are expected to be the first models to be launched in the market soon.

During the event, Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited VinFast’s exhibition area and signed on a VinFast VF 5 car.
