This is the largest wide-body aircraft order of Vietjet to date and one of the largest orders at the Singapore Airshow this year. The aircraft will be operated on the airline’s expanding long-haul network as well as on high-demand routes in the region. The new planes will replace the airline’s current leased A330-300 fleet and support the expansion of its flight network.

Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We are delighted to work with Vietjet in the next phase of their expansion. The A330neo aircraft will enable the airline to achieve the lowest possible operating costs per seat and continue to offer passengers the best value on every flight. The new aircraft will also be a perfect complement to the A321XLRs that Vietjet ordered earlier, allowing the airline to provide even longer-range flights for passengers.”

Dinh Viet Phuong, Vietjet Vice President, said, “The new A330neo aircraft is a strategic addition to Vietjet’s comprehensive fleet modernization, improving the airline’s operational capabilities to serve the global expansion of the carrier. The introduction of the fuel-efficient A330neo aircraft will play a crucial role in Vietjet’s sustainable development strategy with ESG goals, aiming to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. I believe that our passengers will soon benefit from flying on longer, fully-equipped, modern routes at cost-effective prices in the near future.”

The A330neo features an award-winning Airspace cabin design, setting a new standard in comfort, space, and design, providing passengers with a unique flying experience. This superiority is reflected in larger personal space, bigger overhead bins, next-generation lighting systems, the most advanced in-flight entertainment system, and full connectivity.

Equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330-900 aircraft has a continuous range of 7,200nm/13,300km. As of the end of January 2024, the A330 family has received 1,771 orders from over 130 customers worldwide.

With a fleet of more than 105 aircraft and continuously growing passenger traffic each year, Vietjet is actively expanding its flight network across continents, developing new and modern fleets with strategic partner Airbus in the near future.
