According to the information on the Van Lang University website, the university council currently consists of 10 members. Among them, Mrs. Bui Thi Van Anh (wife of Mr. Tri) is the Chairwoman of the university council. Other members include: Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu (Rector); Dr. Vo Van Tuan (Vice Rector); Mr. Le Ngoc Son; Dr. Vu Viet Ngan; Mr. Dương Trọng Dật; Ms. Bui Phạm Lan Phương; Associate Professor Dr. Le Thi Kim Oanh; Mr. Nguyen Dac Anh Chuong; Ms. Hoang Son Dien.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri was once known as the Chairman of the Van Lang University Council, however, the university council has since been restructured. As a result, Mrs. Bui Thi Van Anh is now the Chairwoman of the university council.
According to Dan Tri newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri (born in 1970) is a well-known tycoon who owns two “ecosystems,” namely Capella Group with 28 subsidiary companies operating in real estate, restaurants, hotels, etc., and Van Lang Education Group with 7 member units operating in the field of education.
He holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Van Lang Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Capella Group.
In early 2023, the Board of Directors of Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Saigonbank) announced that Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri – a member of the Saigonbank Board of Directors for the 2019-2024 term – “naturally loses his qualification and is no longer a member of the Saigonbank Board of Directors as of January 19th.”
